Since inception in 1975, Alaska Mechanical, Inc. (AMI) has been successfully completing projects throughout Alaska. AMI's business philosophies from the onset were formed by the desire to build a safe, strong, reputable contractor that is trusted by its associates and respected by its competitors. AMI's reputation and success today are a testament to these philosophies and the fundamentals of hard work. As our name implies AMI was founded as a construction company specializing in large projects with extensive mechanical piping and equipment installations. Today, AMI is a multidivisional contractor that performs work in all sectors of the industrial/commercial market place.
Since well before the safety revolution, AMI has proactively embraced "safety first". Our Safety division is a fully staffed department with resident professionals who shepherd our safety procedures, training programs, field reviews, and corporate compliance on a daily basis. AMI's commitment to safety is unwavering.
Each year AMI will employ over 350 workers in administrative and construction trades. At the heart of this workforce is a core group of construction managers, superintendents, foremen, journeymen, and laborers that move from project to project ensuring consistent, quality work. This group grows as the company does, but entry into the core is reserved for those who excel in their respective disciplines. With offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks we are strategically situated to handle projects throughout the State. AMI's large and comprehensive construction fleet is staged at both yards for quick response to projects both above and below the 63rd parallel. In 2008 AMI purchased Dokoozian Construction, LLC. Dokoozian is a general contractor and construction management business based in Anchorage. Dokoozian has a performance resume that includes design-build projects in the private sector as well as city, state, and Federal bid projects. These include large scale multi-unit apartment buildings, shopping centers, schools, warehouses and office buildings.
Honesty and uncompromising integrity provide the foundation of trust upon which the following values of Alaska Mechanical's reputation are built.
